Nokia and Intel Announce Meego Mobile OS, Wired Mag Coming to iPad

- Nokia and Intel are forging an unlikely alliance, as the two companies are combining their incomplete Linux-based operating systems into one entity known as MeeGo. The odd coupling of Moblin and Maemo, which is expected to begin producing results later this year, was reportedly created in order to provide service for "the broadest range of device segments." - Adobe has officially announced the arrival of Adobe AIR for Android and Flash Player 10.1, and officials with the company believe that the new offerings could revolutionize the future development of mobile apps. - Apple's iPad isn't expected to officially arrive until late March, but Wired Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson gave a preview of his magazine on the gadget at the recent Technology, Entertainment, and Design conference. Anderson called the iPad a "game changer," and said an iPad version of Wired will debut this summer. [From: Wired]
- A recent report indicated that the average iPhone owner only uses between five and 10 apps on a regular basis. The owners do, though, consume a significant amount of data per month. According to Consumer Reports, the monthly data usage for iPhone owners was five times more than that of BlackBerry owners and twice that of other smartphone owners. [From: Mac Rumors]
