Relive Sports' Greatest Moments With Video Game Recreations

Every die-hard sports fan knows that games, heck, even entire seasons, are often defined by a single play. How do we know this? Well, it's been bashed into our heads via dramatic, slow-motion montages more times than we can count. Plus, the creation of 24-hour sports channels and the explosion of YouTube have made it easier than ever for us to relive these great moments, thus making it harder for us to avoid watching them.

While nothing's better than watching a game-winning shot or an unforgettable error, we'd just as well enjoy firing up our video game console and attempting to recreate similar, albethey digital, moments. Apparently, we're not alone. Unreality magazine has compiled some YouTube videos in which dedicated gamers recreate some of the most famous plays in sports history. Some of the videos are even synced with audio from the actual game, making them even more enjoyable.

There's Bill Buckner's blunder in the 1986 World Series, recreated in the classic game 'RBI Baseball' (sorry, Red Sox fans). More recently captured, there's a 'Tecmo Bowl' reenactment of Tracy Porter's interception return for a touchdown and Saints victory in this year's Super Bowl. Of course, we couldn't fail to mention the clip of Michael Jordan's legendary shot in the 1992 NBA Finals (our favorite).

We just mentioned a few from the list above, and there are plenty more to be found out there on the Web. You could spend all day watching these video game highlights. Or, to use an old sports adage, you could "get in the game" and create some memorable highlights of your own. [From: Unreality magazine]
