South Koreans Turn Sausages Into Edible iPhone Styli

In order to detect when and where you tap, capacitive touchscreens, like the one found on the iPhone, rely on the ability of the human finger to conduct electricity. Unfortunately, that means whenever you don gloves, the device becomes useless. Companies like Ten One Design sell specially designed styli for use with such screens, but some might not want to spend $15 on what amounts to a tube with a sponge on it.
People in South Korea have come up with a cheap and unique, if somewhat repulsive, solution: a sausage. Apparently, sales of snack sausages from CJ Corporation have skyrocketed since people discovered that the meat tube can function as an iPhone stylus (literal 'sausage fingers', if you will).
Above is a photo of commuters, sausages in gloved hand. (If you're intrigued, you're more than welcome to try and make sense of this poorly translated Korean news article.) We imagine the same trick would work with meat snacks more readily available here in the U.S., like Slim Jims for instance, but we'll stick with our non-food-related hacks, like dialing with our noses and wearing bum-gloves. only reason those korean tube of sausages work as a stylus is because a metal ring closes the end of the sausage. slim jim will not do the same job as it vacuum sealed.
