Dog-e-Minder: Turns Real Animals into Tamagotchis
Negligent dog owners, take note: you can now ignore your best friend's pleas for attention guilt-free, thanks to a new device that keeps tabs on your dog's most critical needs. Dog-e-Minder, the latest electronic bauble to add to your dog's collar, is a battery-powered gadget that keeps track of the last time old Fido ate, walked, or took the Paxil he'll undoubtedly need after the Dog-e-Minder turns him into a walking virtual pet. Just remember to push the corresponding button after each activity has occurred, and an internal timer will keep track of how long it's been since you last tended to your dog's vital needs. And in the event your dog goes running off in search of more loving parents, the Dog-e-Minder can help you drag him back home, thanks to the contact information conveniently stored in the device. Not surprisingly, the minds behind Dog-e-Minder have decided to market this canine contraption on the infomercial circuit, and have even gone so far to claim that "if you own a dog, this product will change your life." And if you order soon, they'll toss in a second one for free. And that, we'd imagine, would change your life even more -- especially considering that you could use the device on anything that requires a leash. Cats, toddlers, Kelly Osbourne... with Dog-e-Minder, the possibilities are endless. [From: Engadget]

If you need one of these, you have no business having a dog. Whats next, a model for kids? I know people who could use that. Pathetic.

How stupid! People that just fed their dog, took it for a walk or to the vet ALREADY know it needs to be done...cause they just did it and obviously, they care! A better use for this device would be "Worthless Spouse Minder". You could program it for the last time he "knocked the little man outta the boat", cut the grass, took a bath, did something romantic, bought you flowers....it's got plenty of uses. Anyone purchasing this item for their pets need to wear it around their OWN neck. If you can't rermember to feed your dog, you sure as heck are not going to remember to check it.

What a stupid product! If you're a big enough idiot to forget to feed your dog, how are you going to remember to push the stupid button?

This makes perfect sense...think outside the box. I work 10 hour days and my neighbor walks my dog in the afternoon. Using this, I'd know what time (or if she happened to miss it) and if he's on medication, I can get that as well. Great idea for those who share fidos care with others.

I totally agree, its not stupid it has its uses. If your sharing responsibility with the kids and you ask them if they walk or fed the dog and they lie, then you know. Unless they push the button without feeding the dog, but then they would have remembered the button and to feed the dog.
