MIT Grad Uses MS Paint to Build Interactive Resume

While the rest of the job-seeking world is busy uploading pristine, video-enhanced resumes or marketing themselves on Twitter, one brainiac at MIT has decided to set his CV apart from the self-marketing masses -- with a little help from Microsoft Paint. Flagrantly disregarding all ladder-climbing protocol, computer science PhD grad Eugene Hsu recently created a surprisingly coherent resume entirely on Paint. In addition to the typical work experience and education background info, Hsu delves far deeper into the details and quirks of his personal life. For example, when potential employers peruse his credentials, they'll know all about his aversion to carrot juice, as well as his extensive collection of (presumably American Apparel) hoodies -- each detail, quite fittingly, punctuated with several exclamation points.
It's certainly a way to stand out from the crowd, and we applaud Hsu's child-like spirit and creativity. But we're still not entirely convinced that turning our body of work into a seven-year old's art class project will necessarily give us a better shot at landing our dream job. It's still a welcomed respite, however, from the other notoriously "alternative" resumes that have cropped up over the years. [From: Squicky.org, via: Neatorama]

I once reviewed a resume in the form of a restaurant menu. We weren't hungry.
