Chrome OS Tablet Joins the Slate Race

Chrome OS Tablet Concept Revealed
Though the Chromium OS team (the open source side of Google's Chrome OS project) posted these mockups on January 25 (it took until now for the blogosphere to take notice). One thing is clear, though: Chrome OS has the iPad in its sights. The concept images and video show what a multi-touch enabled Chrome OS might look like. While there is nothing truly Earth-shattering about the images, the pop-over context menus and switchable thumb or finger keyboards are welcome user interface additions.

Other features on display are live tab previews, a quick access app menu, and resizable windows that can run side-by-side (aka, multi-tasking; someone should tell Apple about it).
