Modded Honda Motorbike Looks Like a Spaceship, Gets Over 200 MPG

At its very essence, a motorbike is a pretty darn fuel-efficient mode of transportation. Filling up the gas tank of a standard model won't exactly break your bank account (or even your piggy bank). But for Allert Jacobs, his Honda ANF125i Innova's fuel economy of more than 100 miles per gallon (mpg) just wasn't good enough. So he went to work. According to Treehugger, Jacobs modified the bike into a 200-plus-mpg machine that looks more like a spaceship than it does a motorbike. How did he do it? Well, he added 88 pounds to the bike, but reduced wind resistance, too. By lowering the seat position, placing his feet at the front of the bike and adding an aerodynamic shell, Jacobs reduced the drag of the bike, which can typically account for 50-percent of a bike's fuel at mere speeds of 15 or 20 mph.

We're all for saving money, but how far do you take it? It's not like Jacobs was paying $100 to fill up an SUV. Some might call his design and modifications frugal (picture of the unmodified bike after the break). But at the risk of being politically incorrect, we'll call it like we see it: cheap.
