'Caligula' Director Set to Make World's First 3-D Porn

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Italian director Tinto Brass said Thursday that he's ready to create the world's first 3-D porno flick. You might remember Brass from his infamous 1979 film 'Caligula,' which was set in ancient Rome and featured graphic sex scenes (incest, cheating, and a giant killing machine) that ruffled many feathers. So what's the premise behind this 3-D porn? Brass says it'll "revisit an abandoned project about a Roman emperor that was ruined by Americans, and go from there." Sounds like he'll really be stretching his creative muscles with this one. Brass says he'll write the script and cast the film as soon as possible, and he hopes to begin filming in May or June. (Gore Vidal, feel up to the task?)
Not only would this be the first 3-D porno, but it'd be the first 3-D movie of any kind made in Italy. Italians always do know how to do a movie right. Where America put its 3-D stock in an overblown film about blue people on another planet, Brass sticks to a subject that will surely endure time -- erotic, ancient Romans having crazy sex in 3-D. Nope, it is not the first.
"Lollipop Girls in Hard Candy" from 1976 was the first in 3D and that has the now legendary John Holmes in it. This guy is a bit late to the game.
Maybe he means the first using shutter glasses, but definitely not the first.

Swoodloes-Was the Holmes thing 3d start to finnish? This new one from what I comprehend is supposed to be start to finnish 3D, but look like actual people not cartoon characters. I'm not familiar with the holmes one at all so good on you for remembering that trivia btw. (of course I also wasn't around, nor am 'I' up on that many adult films) but still you get what I'm saying, it's a compliment-Honest!
Or was it like a Roger Rabbit sort of idea-but 'porn'? Well it said Lollipop GIrls so I guess was it a Wizard Of Oz sort of thing? Or am I just on the wrong like of thought here? Thanx

A 1971 version of "The Stewardesses" was done in 3-D. This wasn't really porn, but it was a hard R.
