'Defriended' iPhone App Exposes Your Former Facebook Friends
Everybody is always excited to add a new friend on Facebook (and if you're not, social networking probably isn't for you). But what happens when those cyber relationships turn sour? Feelings are hurt, angry Wall posts might be made, and, in many cases, one person will simply delete or "defriend" the other in order to cut off all communication. Thankfully, to avoid yet more drama, Facebook doesn't publish defriending information to its news feed. But, if you're a glutton for punishment, a new iPhone application called "Defriended" will. According to Macworld, each time you launch the app, it scrolls through your Facebook friends list. When that's finished, the app compares the new scan with an older scan so that you can see who has ditched you and who has not.
However, after being available to download for just one day, the app was disabled Wednesday by Facebook. According to All Facebook, "Defriended" violated a platform developer policy that stated, "you must not notify a user that someone has removed the user as a friend."
We're not real sure why you'd want to know each and every time somebody defriended you on Facebook, anyway. Who wants more hurt feelings or embarrassment, even if it's on the Web? The best option, it would seem, would be to just let it go. After all, there are plenty of cyberfish in the social networking sea. [From: Macworld]
