Augmented Reality Shaquille O'Neal Promotes 'Muscle Milk' in Ohio
Augmented reality took off like a rocket last year -- with everything from sneakers to music videos making use of the technology. And, with the new year starting, it doesn't look like the trend will slow down, either. According to TechCrunch, the Ohio company behind the Muscle Milk protein drink has funneled that potent elixir into a special-edition Shaquille O'Neal bottle, which -- when paired with a webcam -- projects a 3-D image of the Cleveland Cavaliers star. Just aim your webcam at the bottle's "33" label, and a tiny Shaq will appear on top. Inexplicably wearing just a black tank-top, sneakers, and gym shorts, the augmented Shaq dances and sings about some famous Ohio landmarks (and, we'd assume, makes a pitch for Muscle Milk, too). If you can't find Muscle Milk at your local health store, don't worry. You can go to the product's site and print off the label to enjoy the same gimmick. This is one 3-D performance we'll pass on, though. After all, we've seen Shaq's acting in 'Kazaam,' and that's all we need to know. [From: TechCrunch]
