Escaped Convict Who Taunted Cops via Facebook Gets Busted

Remember the convicted British burglar who escaped from prison only to taunt authorities via Facebook? Well, the jig is apparently up for Craig "Lazie" Lynch and his social networking shenanigans. According to an Associated Press report, Lynch was arrested by Scotland Yard last night in southern England. If you'll recall, Lynch escaped from a minimum security prison in Suffolk last September. While on the lam, he regularly updated his Facebook page (which was removed after his arrest) with anecdotes about parties he'd attended, scrumptious lunches he'd eaten, and the comfort of sleeping at home.

Authorities wouldn't give many details about Lynch's arrest. It's possible that they finally tracked down the IP address or used a clue dropped on his Facebook Wall to locate the foolish fugitive. Lynch has been charged with escaping from custody, and has a court date set for later today.

While Lynch awaits sentencing, we'll go ahead and give him the official Switched "dumb criminal" seal of approval. Maybe next time he should take a look at those Facebook privacy settings. [From: Fox News, via: Gizmodo]
