'Avatar' Makes Us Sad and Horny, App Gives the Lowdown on Tacos

There's a load of great tech news happening out there every day, and, unfortunately, we just can't cover it all. Here are a few of the other noteworthy things we saw today on our never-ending journey through the wild, wild Web.
  • Over 1,000 people who have seen 'Avatar' have commented on forums, saying that living on Earth (instead of Pandora) makes them depressed, and even suicidal. If Cameron's world of face-melting magic is really that powerful, then why don't we all get proactive about intergalactic global imperialism and deforestation? Instead of just sitting around like emo misanthropes? [From: CNN]
  • But, Avatar fans, there is cause to rejoice! The Na'vi apparently did get kinky in an early draft of the film's script, using their neurotransmitter-braid-things to bump uglies. Melancholic fanboys take note that, when the technology arrives to transform you into Na'vi, you will be able to blissfully chooch with your "queue." [From: Gawker]
  • Porn has been graphically detailed (no, not that way) in this informative chart. Did you know that China spends twice as much as the U.S. on flesh flicks? Or that 15 new STD cases are reported by porn stars each week? Castration suddenly sounds appealing. [From: Gizmodo]
  • Or we could just stymie all those carnal urges by seeking out some street carnitas! Taco Loco is a new iPhone app that finds nearby food trucks. Much to the chagrin of our editors' aching bellies, it seems that Taco Loco search results are currently restricted to California, but we New Yorkers will download it with a quickness when it comes to our coast.
