Apple Adds Web-Based iTunes Music Previews, Joins the Aughts

Apple and its gadgets technologically dominated the Aughts. Because of the company's overwhelming success and the performance of its devices, finding flaws in its products and processes can be pretty difficult. When weaknesses are pinpointed, though, they become a definite source of consternation for finicky and picky consumers.
Last year, the lack of cut-and-paste abilities on the iPhone inspired significant dissidence with Apple users. Once Apple addressed that issue, the unruly mobs focused their attention on the iTunes Store, particularly the inability to preview certain material. Apple initially sought to alleviate those complaints with the introduction of iTunes Preview last November, but the service required that users actually log in to their accounts. That inconvenience has now too been remedied, according to Distorted Loop, as you can now enjoy 30-second iTunes previews straight from your browser using QuickTime. And, there's also a sneaky and simple method of turning that clip into a ringtone, which TUAW explains.
So, there's one less service issue to inspire geek fury among Apple fans and critics. With AT&T also making a steadfast commitment to improving its iPhone network coverage, it seems that folks are just going to have to find some new target for their snarky Apple ire.
