Geneva Lab's GenevaSound minimal iPod hi-fis have been around for a while, but now the ultramodern speaker has been shrunk to fit smaller spaces on tighter budgets. Last night at Digital Experience, we got a hands-on demo of the Lilliputian version of this sleek treasure, and it's fair to say that, despite the raucous environment and zebra-striped booth babes competing for our attention, the new GenevaSound S has not lost audio quality in its miniature transformation.
The new docks boast a back-lit touch interface that, when off, is practically seamless in the panel. A digital clock radio supplements the iPod/iPhone inputs and external line-in jack for all your music needs. Inside the box are two incredibly powerful 3-inch speakers, as well as two bass ports and two class-D digital amplifiers. Retailing for $299, this is a haute-design hi-fi we want in every room of our similarly tiny apartments.
