Samsung Updates Front-Screen-Equipped Point-and-Shoots

Samsung continues to go after the profile photo crowd with updates to its DualView point-and-shoot line, marked by a 1.5-inch LCD screen on the front of the camera for group photos. The TL210 gets slight upgrades with a 5x optical zoom, 27mm wide-angle lens and a 12.4-megapixel sensor, and the TL205 comes in with a 3x zoom and 12.2 megapixels.

In case your kids really can't concentrate, last year's Child Mode (a "fun" picture is displayed on the front LCD) gets enhanced with audio. Now, a musical tune will attempt to get the kids looking in the right direction. Smile detectors are nothing new, but these cameras achieve new levels of robophotography by attempting to snap "Couple Shots," doing so by detecting when subjects "tilt their heads toward one another."

As far as video goes, the TL210 shoots 720p high def footage (at 30 frames per second), while the TL205 shoots standard 640x480.

Both cameras land in March 2010, with the TL210 available in blue or red and the TL205 in black.
