Chrome Knocks Out Safari, Internet Explorer Still Losing Users
While Internet Explorer continues its rapid descent into obscurity, Chrome inched forward, passing Safari as the third most-used Web browser this past December. According to Net Applications, more users now use Chrome for everyday browsing than Safari -- 4.63 to 4.46 percent, to be exact -- an impressive development given Google launched its infant browser just 16 months ago. Chalk it up to Google's increasing popularity with Gmail and its Android platform paired with beta releases of the browser for Mac and Linux more than three weeks ago. Ultimately though, Chrome's streamlined, speedy design is quickly winning over loyal users.
Meanwhile, IE, the current long-standing champ in the browser wars, dropped nearly a percentage point in usage the same month to almost 63 percent, a far cry from 2003, when more than 85-percent of Internet users preferred IE. [From: Net Applications, via: Engadget]

what? I tried Chrome when it first came out for like 2 weeks, then switched to Firefox and never looked back.

What made you turn back? Chrome's speed is tough to turn down, and Firefox is such a resource hog.
