Just wanted to give you a heads up that the Boxee Box by D-Link will most definitely do 1080p local content and HD streaming.

Andrew from Boxee

Andrew Kippen

Comments on Boxee Box Made Even More Official

Interested in broad specs for your Boxee for travellers. I travel to many countries, so need lightweight compact hardware, that will support older TV 'Composite' connections at SD 525/625 lines which vast majority in non-1st world still use. If where I stay, there is no TV set, I have my Terratec USB Hybrid TV-Tuner, which I prefer to connect to a Media-Streamer or compact HTPC rather than a laptop. Am considering the Acer Revo 3610L. BUT: it uses a 'weak' Atom N330 dual-core 1.6GHz CPU, which is marginal as Terratec recommendation is 2GHz CPU+1GB RAM if under Windows.
All my material is RMVB, FLV or other SD, no HD as yet - but clearly also require HD compatibility that will soon be standard. I would like my HTPC/Streamer to be able to run the XBMC and FF type browsers if poss.

Can you shed any light on where the BOXEE may suit my needs ?

will2

Comments on Boxee Box Made Even More Official

Hey Andrew, thanks for commenting.
