Twitter Type 'Toon Tells Your Tweeting Tendencies

With Twitter's booming popularity, some trends are bound to develop. No, we're not talking about the daily deluge of spam on the micro-blogging site, either. We're referring to the ways people use the service, all of which have been stereotyped and compiled by blogger and entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki. The brilliant result is a list of six Twitter types.
As funny as Kawasaki's observations are, they're pretty dead-on, too. Plus, they inspired a pretty sweet cartoon drawing (seen above). First, there's 'The Newbie,' who's prone to posting mundane updates about his or her life. This type might even need to ask, "What is Twitter?" Another type, 'The Brand,' uses Twitter to market somebody or something, which can be more annoying than the aforementioned clueless type. There's 'The Smore' (social-media whore), 'The Bitch' ("I hate my life!"), 'The Mensch' (who's always there to help), and, our favorite, 'The Maven' (whose expert knowledge on a given topic is well worth following). If you've spent any time in the Twitterverse, and apparently most folks have, you've run across these stereotypes.
Depending on which one of these types fits you, it's time to either give yourself a pat on the back or reevaluate your social networking skills. Now, if you'll excuse us, we have some expert knowledge to tweet. [From: Guy Kawasaki, via: Tom Fishburne]
