Best Buy Generously Gives Away Free App for Free
We've spent a decent amount of time ragging on Best Buy for its rather questionable business practices, but we've got to hand it to the retailer this time. It's offering such a sweeeeeet deal on the (already) free social networking application TweetDeck. That's right. Pop into any participating Best Buy, snatch up one of several select CDs for $9.99, and get the free downloadable Twitter/Facebook/MySpace app... for free!

So, you can pick up Lady Gaga's album, or the latest plastic platter of pop dreck from the Black Eyed Peas, for 10 bucks. Then, as a bonus, you can get the free Adobe Air app, and featured free Switched Download, TweetDeck, so that you can "follow the hottest artists." It's really generous of the electronics outlet to just give away a free application like this.

Well, we suppose it could be worse, or at least more blatant; Best Buy could just charge you for a link to the TweetDeck Web site (where the app is offered for, you guessed it, free).

Maybe we'll start advertising: "Read Switched and Get TweetDeck, Dropbox, Evernote, and 7-Zip. For Free!" [From: BuzzFeed]
