Optimum Surfing Comfort: Nine Laptop Positions to Avoid

Design blog Core77 did a case study on netbook design, and as part of it looked at the common positions of laptop users, other than sitting at a desk. The image below illustrates those 10 common positions and highlights the hotspots of pain associated with nine of them. The study found that the most comfortable posture, and the least stressful on your joints, was lying down with your legs raised, the laptop resting on your thighs. Gizmodo's Brian Lam concurs, as do we, that if you're not going to sit properly at a desk, you can do much worse.
Of course, the best thing for you to do is to get a proper desk and chair, but we'd settle if you'd only promise to stop computing while on the can. [From: Core77 and Gizmodo, via: Lifehacker]

So essentially, avoid any position that you see people with laptops using in advertisements.
