We are suppose to protect ourselves from thieves and yet a lot of people feel the need to put all their personal information and pictures on their computers for the whole world to see now, doesn't that make people who are suppose to be intelligent kind of dumb! Come on I don't want to hear that your info is fake or the pictures are not real, although they might be, but did you ever think that some of your imagined up information just might be exactly someone else s information. Anyone using this face book or that my space or anything like that is just looking for trouble. There is nothing good that can come from such web sites. Yes they may start out really good and then start to crumble in time from people abusing them. Such as the grown adult who made up a fake profile for a guy who did not exist just to torture a teen girl who then committed suicide not that they were her only issues but she did help by making a very young girl feel like she was worthless and for what because a grown woman was acting like a child and why because like I have said these web sites may be good in the beginning but then turn to crap! Unfortunately it is humans who are the problem so it does not matter they have taken something with awesome potential just as we have done with cell phones and destroyed the good in them!! We are suppose to USE them not ABUSE them!!!

Mary

Comments on Web Sites That Met an Unfortunate 2009 Demise

It's a sign of the times, everyone wants their 15 min.....

paul

Comments on Web Sites That Met an Unfortunate 2009 Demise

the story lost me when they said Darwin's Law. It is referred to as a "Theory" simply because the origin of the species was not witnessed by scientists since the species Homo Sapiens had not yet originated, much less the act of note-taking. In order for some scientific theory to become LAW it must be witnessed and documented, and must be a constant, and results must be repeatable. Gravity is a constant, the theory was witnessed and proven, therefore it became a scientific law. The origin of the species obviously took place over billions of years, and since modern science as we know it finally crawled from beneath the bootheel of superstition and religion barely 250 years ago (remember what happened to Galileo?) there could have been no extensive documentation of ongoing evolution, so, the existing FACT of evolution is described by science as a THEORY...mostly because the scientists who subscribe to these rules are so very exacting.

revfelcher

Comments on Web Sites That Met an Unfortunate 2009 Demise

There is no other reality but evoloution. Not! That is not what it was like, at all! There was some kind of visual, of a pic, of some web site that went "kaput" in 2009, and the pictures were so fuzzy, small and blurry. Very misleading article that was not a good read, at all... He simply stated a fact, Darwins theories are just that, unproven theories. The artice IS very poorly written and the writer clearly got it wrong refering to anything by Darwin as a "law." Just because someone would like to see a little accuracy and it is not "Politically Correct," at this moment, does not mean they are spouting off some "religous" viewpoint contrary to your own. Your obvious hatred of Christians is interesting though. I would bet you go around telling everyone how you are "extremely tolerant of everyone," yet you rather viciously attack the first person whom you even remotely perceive to hold a Christian belief. Fascinating.

Corey

Comments on Web Sites That Met an Unfortunate 2009 Demise

It is a theory because it was unwitnessed and undocumented at the dawn of time...you know...like, back before there were people? Evolution in the modern world is a fact, because we can prove it today with currently evolving species, including human beings. We cannot prove the "theory" about past evolution simply because there was nobody there with a camera and a notepad. Religious beliefs and superstition have no place in science, and the twain should never meet. (Although I'd have liked to have met Mark Twain.)

eddybaby58

Comments on Web Sites That Met an Unfortunate 2009 Demise

If you follow the CNET link you will find all the demised sites. Darwin tried to show that a particular bird adapted and grew a larger beak because it's food source was harder to get. But as scientists have revisited this bird it has been shown that the beak varies in size from generation to generation. as far as macro evolution (one species becoming another, like ape to man), there have never been any fossils to show the various stages of evolving. with exceptions like Lucy that have been proven FAKE. also without Christianity there would be no science (look it up).

hydracalm
