Art Lebedev's 'Transparentius' Opens Up the Roads

Lebedev's "Transparentius" is one of those stunningly simple, "I-can't-believe-no-one's-come-up-with-that-already" kind of inventions that allows distressed drivers to "see through" the diesel behemoth blocking their view. All it involves is a camera attached to the front of the truck, which then transmits the road image to a screen on the back of the truck. That's it. As Engadget astutely observes, the mechanics behind the thing haven't exactly been made, well, transparent. Nor is there any indication of how the device would mitigate the effects of sunlight glare. But all that aside, if the Transparentius ever makes its way to the road, it may go a long way toward making your road trips a bit safer -- and a lot less stressful. [From: Engadget]
