Watching Twitter tonight has taught me one thing, Phillies fans are a bunch of whiny dicks. But it's ok, every tank needs a bottom feeder.

I am a horrible sleeper. What works for me is a noisy box fan, put it on high and it does the same thing as the soiund wave machine but so much cheaper around $15. I have so many friends and family members who can not sleep unless they have a fan. It works I have used mine for 35 years. Good luck on this one.

AGREE 100%!!! I have slept w/a 'box-fan' since I was a child of eleven and I CANNOT sleep w/out one.....

It can be 50 degrees in the room....I need the fan on in order to fall a sleep. Try a fan, it works!

I agree. My teens and I are all "fan" sleepers. Not only does a box fan help drown out all other noises so you can fall asleep, they are, also, wonderful alarm clocks! Just turn the fan off when you want someone to wake up - and you can count the seconds until it wakes you up! Been using this technique for years - lol

What do you when the weather is kinda chilly? Do you also turn on your fan when it's cold?, I do admit having the fan on at summer or when it's hot makes a good sleep. I cannot sleep when it's too hot.

I totally agree too! I currently turn my Oreck air cleaner machine on "Medium" and the hum puts me to sleep. My bedroom window is next to the parking lot in my complex, and it drowns out car noises, etc. I also have a Timex clock that has "nature sounds" but it does not seem to work as well as the hum from the air cleaner. Good luck to all!

I am a firm believer in the white noise too. I have all of my family addicted to the noise of a fan and during the winter months we all use a humidifier and the fan noise from that does the trick. And yes, way cheaper.....

@CaliStud:
I have an air purifier/cleaner machine that makes the same kind of sound as a fan, and I use that when I don't have the fan on. Works year round.
Although I admit the gentle breeze of a fan is sleep-inducing, the sound is a big part of it too, so the purifier works for me.

I am also a box fan girl. It has to be a box fan and I have to have it or I can't sleep at all. I don't really sleep all that well anymore because of stress but my fan helps.
I like the idea of the blue light gadget. That WITH my fan sounds lovely. Purrrs :)
