Rachel Maddow Lists GOP Web Flubs
The story about the GOP-branded URL shortening service that we brought you earlier was really just one of several major Internet flubs pulled off by the Republican party this year. The party of John McCain and George Bush is playing catchup with the Democrats when it comes to leveraging the Web to recruit and organize members, and is clearly learning as it goes. From the misuse of its most powerful technological tool, the Voter Vault, by Arizona Republican Party executive director Brett Mecum, to the botched launch of the revamped GOP.com that included a page featuring "future party leaders" that remained empty for some time, it's been a year of trial and serious error by Conservatives on the Web.

MSNBC's unapologetic liberal fireball Rachel Maddow assembled a quick rundown of the GOP's rather public Internet blunders (something we probably should have beaten her to the punch on -- shame on us). Check out the video below, and enjoy all the unintentional political hilarity. And before we're accused of being biased [Ed. Note: We are a New York-based blog, though] -- if a similarly entertaining clip surfaces of Web-based left wing screw-ups, we'll be all over that like Limbaugh on oxycodone.
