Man Plows Through Store Window to Get a Mac

Apple fans are legendary for their fanatical devotion to the company and its products, many of which have been crowned as this decade's best gadgets. Sometimes, though, that feverish desire for all things Cupertino can inspire disastrous criminal enterprises. Apple robberies have become increasingly commonplace, with the latest tech heist going down in Murray, Utah.

According to KSL, the theft occurred in the wee hours of Friday morning when a man backed a van through an ExperCom Mac dealership's front window. He then entered and ransacked the store for assorted Apple gear. Despite stumbling over cords and struggling to load items, the bumbling plunderer made off with $6,000 in goods. The store owner believes it will also cost him over $10,000 to repair the devastated shop. The store was equipped with surveillance cameras, though, so authorities hope they can identify the bandit, his van, or its license plate number.

Just a few months ago, a crew of computer thieves performed an Apple Store smash'n'grab, but without the automotive assistance. The incredibly brief, 31-second spree even prompted us to proclaim that, "the only way they could've pulled off the heist any faster would be if they'd driven a race car through the store." Maybe we should have offered a disclaimer with that line: "Don't get any ideas!" [From: KSL]
