Send Your Loved Ones a Glowing Mushroom For Xmas

Despite any transcendental experience you may have had in college, mushrooms, in general, aren't actually "magic" -- even, apparently, if they glow in the dark. As part of their holiday lineup of eco-friendly innovations, the natural media agency CURB has introduced something called "GlowFungi" (or "DiscoFungi" for the groovy) -- naturally luminous mushrooms that can brighten up every holiday home, despite denomination. The glow allegedly lasts for up to a week, involves bio-luminescent bacteria, and involves no chemical reaction at all. The agency's marketing it in a gel form that can be applied to any outdoor or indoor surface, and has already sent out a batch of these shimmering shrooms as holiday greetings to their UK clients.

We know there's a growing (ha) market for this, particularly for companies hopping on the green train, and looking to sell themselves as such. But we'd advise caution if you're thinking of stuffing someone's stocking with fluorescent fungi. It may be natural and all, but at the end of the day, there's just something a bit weird about saying "Merry Christmas" with fungus. [From: SpringWise]
