What I want to know is will it secure my personal notes that I download for review. Let's say I want to sync up my insurance forms from my desktop and go over them on the bus ride to class. If the device is lost or stolen I'm screwed. Right? Do any of these devices give me any assurance of keeping my personal stuff safe?

Kelly

Comments on A Very Special Holiday E-Reader Roundup

This was a very Kindle positive e-reader review and 2 years ago I would have agreed. But after 5, count 'em, 5 Kindles (version1 and 2) I am here to tell you that you need to read the 1 and 2 star reviews of these e-readers on Amazon before purchasing. Look for what repeatedly has happened to the consumers of these gadgets. Then make your choice. After HOURS on the phone with bad customer service and not having a gadget I paid $359.00 for, well, an measly 100 bucks more for a Sony sounds reasonable. When my Kindle worked it was awesome though! LOL!

carolineakagod

Comments on A Very Special Holiday E-Reader Roundup

I purchased a SONY PRS 500 a little over 2 years ago in San Diego, on sale at $229. Eight days later it died, and since I live in Florida, I called SONY customer service and was told that I had to send it to their repair facility back in San Diego. They eventually e-mailed me a note telling me it would cost $264 to repair, never did tell me what was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back to another store of the same chain for an exchange. If you buy a SONY,remember, you have to buy your books on line and they are very propriatary. You better hope you never have to have it repaired.

pencooled
