Amazon Offering Free Movie Stream With Disc Purchase

Amazon Offering Free On Demand Copy With Some DVDs and Blu-rays
Amazon is trying to put another nail in the coffin of brick and mortar outlets like Best Buy by offering some of its DVD and Blu-ray discs with a free Amazon Video On Demand copy of the film. The Disc+ On Demand program only covers 300 of Amazon's stable of over 300,000 DVDs, but it does include hits like 'Ghostbusters,' 'Ken Burns: National Parks,' and 'Dr. Strangelove.'

After purchasing an eligible DVD or Blu-ray, the On Demand copy will immediately appear in your Video Library, ready to be downloaded for offline viewing or streamed to a computer, Roku, or other Amazon compatible device. Sadly, the deal is limited to standard definition digital copies, which seems like a waste when you're buying the Blu-ray. But, then again, it's hard to complain when you're getting something for nothing. The system is flawed, but there might be something to the business model.

Of course, some DVDs and Blu-rays have been packing in digital copies of films for sometime, but it's hard to argue with the instant gratification of paying for your physical DVD and being able to watch it on your PC before it even ships. [From: Download Squad]
