70 Under $70 2

Geekdom is a way of life. While some of these things aren't electronic at all, they celebrate the plugged-in by reminding us that, no matter what, we all live in the 21st Century.

Beeswax Bulb Candle Set, $30
Don't just talk about "going green" this Christmas, actually do it. While it alone won't save the planet (or provide much light), this candle set, which features an incandescent and a fluorescent bulb, will look awful cool, and smell even better.

Candeloo Rechargeable Lamps, $39
Though made for kids, these lamps come in colorful pairs and will brighten up any space that feels a bit dark, and doubles as a touch-activated nightlight for those who have long nocturnal bathroom trips.

Design Glut's Cubic Switchplate, $8
Of course, we had to give some love to our ladies at Design Glut. Add some dimension to a pal's life with this 3-D socket plate. If your giftee is aesthetically challenged (or just moved into a new place), put the easy-to-install switchplate in a card, and give them something they'll think of every time they turn on.

CNTL + ALT + DELETE Cup Set, $24
Even geeks need a drink once and again, so why not get that smug Mac fan or sad-looking Windows user on your list these upside-down keyboard cups. They even come with a special tray that's etched to look like a circuit board.

Electrine Wine Bottle Opener
, $20
Most of us at Switched like a good glass of wine now and then. And some of us like a lot of wine, sometimes to the point where our bottle-opening dexterity may be negatively affected. For your casual or habitual wino, this Electric Wine Opener makes drunk fingers a thing of the past. (It also makes bottle-opening that much easier for our more sensible peers.)

Good Chemistry Salt and Pepper Shakers
, $15
For the chemistry geek or simply the science fetishist, these clever porcelain orbs complement any molecular gastronome's table. Even though it's been a while since science class, we're pretty sure that the element "Pe" does not appear on the standard Periodic Table -- but we'll let that slide.

Seat Belt Camera Straps, one for $20.00, two for $35.00
While the camera industry has been upended by the digital revolution, camera accessories and gear haven't changed much over the decades. Toss that boring nylon strap and grab one of these made from recycled
seat belts (available in '80s retro burgundy, teal, white, red, lime, and silver) .

Sumo Canvas Clock Bomb, $33
It's a cool-looking photo of a bomb on canvas, but look closer and you'll realize that the clock in the middle is real. It's a perfect gift for the procrastinator or the perpetually tardy -- now they'll constantly feel like they're in a race against time.

Wireless Air Activator, $13
It won't help anyone connect to the Internet, but this hand fan shaped like the Wi-Fi signal will certainly help them stay cool. It's geek-chic, but let's face it -- a true computer nerd would already have a USB-powered fan plugged in if he or she was too warm.

Circuit Board Luggage Tags
, $17
For the constant traveler, it can be rough having to identify suitcases and duffel bags as they circle the carousel with dozens of other nearly identical looking bags. Make that checked baggage stand out and subtly advertise the carrier's geek status.

Mini Dolmen Radio, $65
Just say no to satellite and get back to basics with the Mini Dolmen. This adorably tiny, bare-bones radio is made from wood and aluminum, and will complement any modernist bedside. Oh, and it's battery operated, so it's perfectly suited for travel.

Bionic Desk Lamp, $64
Nothing makes a desk quite like a lamp, and this minimal but tech-friendly adjustable swivel is mature enough for an office but has plenty of hip-cred to be at home in a dorm. Always remember, when in doubt, go for brushed silver.

Building Brick Candles, $48
Normally, $48 for a candle would inspire a major eye-roll, but this is no ordinary wax creation. Using the grooves of Lego, eight wicks pop out of a solid base, and at nearly eight inches long, a block aficionado will have light for weeks.
