Gift Guide: Wowwee Cinemin Swivel Projector

Despite being a strong candidate for worst product name hall of fame, Wowwee (also a candidate for worst company name) did a swell job with the Cinemin Swivel ($300), a mini video projector that lets you plug in a video source -- iPod, iPhone, PSP, Flip Video, digital camera, netbook, whatever -- and then throw it up on a wall at up to 60-inches across. The swivel refers to its hinged body, which makes it easy to project from an angle without using a tripod or having to jury-rig a prop (as you do with many other mini projectors). Now, you aren't about to put the local cineplex out of business, as the Cinemin really only works in a dimly lit or dark room, and unless you plan to have friends hunch over its tiny speaker to hear a movie you'll also need some type of audio system or headphones to use it in a group situation, but that's not a knock. Nicely it comes with an AC adapter for when it's 2-hour battery runs dry, as well as four plugs for international use for when you're abroad.
