Kindle Reigns as Amazon's Top Seller, Cyber Monday Kicks Off

Our friends over at Engadget obsessively cover everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics, which is why we compile this daily roundup of their top stuff (or, at least, what we think is tops). For more details on any of these stories, click on the Engadget links in each story below.
  • It's Cyber Monday! Remnants of a post-Thanksgiving food hangover and Black Friday shopping stress may be lingering as you boot up your computer this morning, so look for deals (like a $289 Wii Value Bundle and $398 32-inch Bravia HDTV from Wal-Mart) from online retailers to get you through the day.
  • Looks like the Kindle is having a great month; the popular e-reader is currently the number one selling item, across all categories, on Amazon.
  • While it's no surprise that Apple is working on the next generation of the iPhone, it's interesting to see that a new, mysterious model is appearing on the usage records of an iPhone app dealing with San Francisco transportation.
  • New research with Cladophora, a type of green algae, could lead to a breakthrough in battery design. Researchers suggest that these bio-batteries would be radically different in size and shape from current designs; the algae batteries could be paper-thin and much longer-lasting than the traditional ones.
