The Daily Engadget: Google's Free Airport Wi-Fi, T-Mobile Ditches myFaves

Our friends over at Engadget obsessively cover everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics, which is why we compile this daily roundup of their top stuff (or, at least, what we think is tops). For more details on any of these stories, click on the Engadget links in each story below.
Google Gifts Wi-Fi For Christmas Travelers
There are few public spaces in this great land more depressing, irritating, and stressful than the airport. The holidays only make those terminals more terminal, with overbooked flights and delays due to wintry weather. Thankfully, Google is giving us all a big, fat Christmas gift: free Wi-Fi in many of the nation's major airports.
T-Mobile Set to Replace myFaves With Free Calling
Thanks to its advertising campaigns, even those of us without T-Mobile are aware of the carrier's myFaves service. The cell bigwig has bid farewell to that friendly function, though, announcing the new Even More plan, which will offer its subscribers unlimited voice minutes. Sounds good to us, as we each have more than five friends. (Like, at least, seven.) [From: Engadget]
Amazon's 'Kindle for PC' App Hits Computers
Amazon has released its 'Kindle for PC' application, finally allowing customers to read Dostoevsky on their Dells. A Mac- and iPhone-friendly app is apparently on the horizon, as well.
USBConnect Lightning Upgrades Network Speed Via Swiveling USB Key
AT&T users: if you're planning on supercharging your network to 7.2Mbps, you'll need the equipment to properly tap into it. AT&T and Sierra Wireless have announced their November 22nd launch of the USBConnect Lightning, a USB gadget that will allow you to invoke the rolling thunder of super-speed wireless Internet.

Free wifi at airports is such a great christmas gift! Especially since its the busiest time of year to fly, and there are so many delays because of snow. Google is the ultimate Santa this year! Just hope it's in Canada too.
