David Spade Cashes in on Chris Farley's Memory With DirecTV Ads

If you've turned on the television lately, you've probably seen the satellite provider's advertising spot that places an older Spade into the classic "fat guy in a little coat" scene from 'Tommy Boy.' Instead of making us laugh, the commercial makes our stomachs turn. While Farley does his bit (Trust us, it's still funny), Spade laments being stuck in a hotel with his buddy and basic cable when he could be at home watching DirecTV. Frankly, it's just unsettling to watch. What makes it worse is that this isn't the first time the company has used a dead star in a commercial.
Look Spade, we understand times are tough (especially if you're an aging comedian). But just let Farley's memory rest in peace. We'd rather watch you in a 'Joe Dirt' sequel, and believe us, that's saying something. [From: BuzzFeed and TV Squad]

I see you took my comments down you coward. Your opinion about David Spade capitalizing on his friend Chris Farley is unfounded buggery.
Chris Farley's family is making money on this ad too, since I am sure Chris Farley has family. Do you think maybe they had a choice about it? Do you think Farley's family has control over his likeness?? hmmm?
If you dont like David Spade fine... I can accept that... but stating he is captializing on his friend because times are tough?
Was this post worded more to your liking? AH..

Funny as always. I don't see anything disrespectful about this at all. I'm glad some younger people will enjoy Chris like we did. He deserves that.
I'm sure this is probably emotional for David every time he sees this.
