When you adopt
a dog, you expect to drop some cash on things like food, visits to the vet, and maybe chew toys. But one man's best friend drained his bank account in an unexpected way.
According to Kotaku, a man named Greg says his one-year-old dog,
Oscar, purchased 5,000 points on his Xbox Live account, totaling $62.50, while the owner slept in the next room. Somehow, the lab/hound mix (pictured above) managed to spend the money simply by chewing on the
plastic controller. Greg says he woke up the next morning to read
an e-mail confirming his purchase. After initially being angry, he just laughed it off. Instead of pleading with
Microsoft for a refund, he just decided to purchase some new
video games and a replacement controller with the points.
While it may be hard to believe,
dogs have done much more amazing things than this. If only Greg's pup could've been more
heroic like Lassie and less
dim-witted like Odie. Let's just hope Oscar doesn't develop an expensive
Halo habit. [From:

10 Oddball Videogame Controllers
Elle Girl
In April 2006, Elle Girl's print edition was closed down, but the Web site lives on at ellegirl.com.
CosmoGirl
Though it will be folded into Seventeen magazine, the teen version of Cosmopolitan will publish its last print issue in December 2008. It will live on at CosmoGirl.com.
Christian Science Monitor
Founded in 1908 by Mary Baker Eddy, this venerable paper will move all its daily content to the Web starting in 2009, though it will still publish a weekly print version.
Radar Magazine
Was it too snarky for its own good? We'll never know, but this modern-day successor to '80s-era Spy magazine shut down in October. AMI, owner of the National Enquirer, bought RadarOnline.com, however, which will focus on celebrity gossip a la TMZ.com.
US News and World Report
Once a serious competitor to Time and Newsweek, US News and World Report is now best known for its College guides, which it will continue to publish. The weekly newsmagazine, however, will be turned into a monthly, and all daily operations are moving to the Web at usnews.com.

Sorry but Jason is right, ps3s are way better. Most ps3 owners don't even bother argueing about it because they know they have the better system. Xbox live is better than psn but its not worth the extra money imo and halo is a great game but even maps in that game cost extra. Just because you have the extra money doesn't mean you should waste it on BS that should be free. Even the wii has a free router.
By the way this story is fake...
A controller and a few games for 62.50? yea right! Can you even buy controllers off xbox live?

I rather have a dog that chews up the remote, than have a cat the was accussed by the cable company ordering EXTRENERRRRRRRRRRRR Rated movies now known as a porn cat. These movies were being ordered when no one was home or asleep, and the cat was locked up in the hallway with no TV. Then the cable company and I won't say their name (COMCAST) well maybe somebody is coming in your home while you're gone or asleep, my response was, refund all my money and when they did I told to them to get your equpment and cancel my services effective immediately. The moral of this story, don't believe in what they say because they do produce faulty equipment.

I don't now and will never own a x-box I agree with Jason. All the extra bullshit that you have to purchase is just not right and if I want to play Halo I will just buy it for my computer and by-pass the fee to play online like I would if I owned a X-box.Plus you never hear of a massive recall on the ps3 like you did for the X-Box and I still have friends that are having trouble with there X-box even after having it fix.

First of all, the ps2 had many problems when it first came out as did the Xbox and Xbox 360. This was brand new technology they rushed to the market to compete. They're are going to be issues and they do work them out. Newer models of the same systems do tend to be more reliable, its a price you pay for buying new technology. If you want a very solid system that's not going to break down buy Nintendo, they have always been the most reliable but also they're not working on the cutting edge of most technology either.
As far as online fees are based with Xbox...have you tried Sony's "free" online. You get what you pay for so when you pay nothing...The 50 dollars a year is a well invested price to pay for the solid Xbox live. You need seperate xbox accounts for each system because its actually the user connecting to the internet to play. So if you have 2 people on the xbox 360 connecting to play a game you each need to have your own account. This is also for individual gamer points and profiles. I believe you have a sportsman like ranking with some games on Xbox live so you don't want to share with some prick that's going to lower your sportsman score or that they're just bad enough to lower your gamer score. I don't know how exactly the system works, I just know I've tried both and would gladly pay the subscription fee.
And for argument sake over which system is better, technology wise PS3 had an extra year of development before it hit the market, so there's no argument that its got better technology. As far as which system the individual player would want to buy depends on the games they play. If your a sports person then it depends on your wallet, PS3 is more expensive but sports games are cross platform. If your a Halo fan you can only get it on Xbox. I know I'm a huge Rachet and Clank fan and only PS3 offers that. While many games are cross platform and most people don't look at what games are available for which system then your point of view is pointless! But if you're just arguing my system is better because its the one I bought...STFU!
I know many people who aren't hardcore gamers and they're favorite system is the WII. Even when they come to visit me they don't care to play the PS3 or 360 because the games are so different from each other. And I think they have more 'fun' playing their games than anyone else with either a 360 or PS3. And I hate playing most the games on the WII!
whateverOct 29th 2009 5:15PM
I have all 3 systems (1 Wii, 1 PS3, & 4 360's) In case you are wondering I have twin girls and a son who all love to play video games.
I'll admit that I do pay the $00.14 per day for 5 Xbox live accounts for my children, my wife, and myself.....so I guess that makes me a high roller!
To those of you who are preaching nothing but PS3 fanboy garbage; I have 1 PS3 for sale to you - 60gb hard drive & 2 controllers included. It makes a great Blueray player and dust collector at our house. On second thought, I might just keep it because I've heard that someday, Sony might actually put out a game worth playing.
