iPhone 'Rock Band' Debuts, Sarah Palin Job Searching on LinkedIn

This morning's other big tech headlines....
  • 'Rock Band' officially debuted in Apple's App Store today, but the game may have a little trouble making a dent in the finger-tapping musical app marketplace. The 'Tap Tap' series has already attracted millions of fans, and its cheap price ($.99 and sometimes free) looks a lot more attractive than iPhone 'Rock Band's' $9.99 (for 20 songs). [From: Tech Crunch]
  • Sarah Palin hasn't had too much luck landing high-priced speaking gigs recently, so the former governor has apparently posted her resume online at LinkedIn. Just like the rest of us, she left a few things off, including her time spent at Matanuska-Susitna College and her employment history from 2004 to 2006. [From: The Daily Beast]
  • Scareware, schemes that dupe unsuspecting targets by offering fake anti-virus protection, has scammed over 40 million people during the last year. Coupled with recent reports that 59-percent of the world's computers are infected with malware, the U.S. government's pleas to the public to improve "cyber hygiene" grow even more important. [From: The BBC]
  • The European Union (EU) has created a free online library in order to digitally preserve 110,00 documents (everything the EU has had a hand in publishing) from the last 60 years. The project in history and government transparency will be provided in all 23 languages that are used in the Union's 27 member states. [From: Boing Boing]
  • Not to be outdone by our European friends, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum has created the Fly Now! online gallery of 1,300 incredible and beautiful posters, dating all the way back to 1827, which colorfully trace the history of flight in the U.S. [From: The Wall Street Journal]
  • Wal-Mart and Amazon are engaged in a heated holiday battle, marked by price cuts which will actually benefit consumers. If you decide to leave the cozy confines of home and brave the winter weather to shop at a Wal-Mart in person, don't forget to take your camera. [From: CNN]
