The first revamped version added a couple new rooms and weapons, as well as new game play mechanics that allowed for special actions, and the chance that more guests would be killed in the process.

Chris

Comments on Classic 'Clue' Board Game Gets a High-Tech Makeover

I think changeing (clasic ) board games is crapola. Once they are changed they are no longer clasic's . People just have to keep tinking with stuff till they break it . That includes everything. Seems if they aren't talented enough to create something new on their own, they have to tink with someone elses suff till its broken. Then they say "oh, Man. what happend , this isn't like I remember it, it's not the way it was or the way it should be" Well thats because you all broke it. Jerks!

Lunasweb

Comments on Classic 'Clue' Board Game Gets a High-Tech Makeover

You know, I tend to be among the staunchly old-school the article mentioned. But Clue has a pretty good history of expanding its franchise. You've had the sequel game with a different mansion and new characters like Monseiur Brunet in the mix. This version and my favorite spin-off, the art museum game from the mid 80's where you try to make off with the paintings.

Even with the classic game, I've done some tweaking. I still have the family's original Clue set right down to the promotional card for other Hasbro games. The difference is I've thrown a duplicate statue token from our Monopoly game into the weapon mix. Whenever my family's playing Clue, we call that token "the figurine" and use the promotional card to represent it. So if the company want to take Clue in yet another new direction, they should go for it. Hope I get the chance to play Secrets & Spies some time. Sounds like it could be fun

PenmanCLL
