Best of the Rest: Twitter Gets Into Wine, Resurrecting Polaroid

There's a load of great tech news happening out there every day, and, unfortunately, we just can't cover it all. Here are a few of the other noteworthy things we saw today on our never-ending journey through the wild, wild Web.
  • Twitter, not content to collect our 140 character musings and broadcast them for all the world to read, is getting in on the wine-making business. With the help of Crushpad, a site that lets amateurs make and sell their own wine, Twitter is selling a branded vino and the proceeds are going to help Room to Read, a non-profit that promotes literacy in developing nations. • Polaroid instant cameras will be reemerging in mid-2010, just two years after the company ceased producing the iconic shooters and film. The Summit Global Group and The Impossible Project will be working together to resurrect the beloved format. [From: CNET]
  • Firefox 3.5 may seem shiny and new still, but the team at Mozilla is already prepping 3.6, and you can download the Beta version of it now -- as long as you don't mind digging through an FTP server. 3.6 has fancy tab switching animations, integration with the new Windows 7 taskbar, and the usual speed improvements. • Google Wave may be the hot new thing on the Internet, but Farhad Manjoo at Slate seems to think it's too complicated for it's own good. One of his biggest complaints -- live previews of what people are typing -- induces crippling self consciousness. Google promised an off button for that feature, but it's missing in the preview.
