She 'needed" something to keep her going or to distract her or keep her mind off her tiredness.<br>Music peps you up and heals. Isn't that why we listen to it? We only know it was an iPod because she said so.  Any type of electronic device is against the rules because it could have been a two-way radio to a coach, or friend to give her information on the competition.  Besides, if you "need" an iPod to race, then you shouldn't be racing. You pay attention to the course and the other runners around you.  You develop the mental toughness to distract yourself without external assistance.  People who "can't run" or "get bored" without their iPods, Walkmen, whatever, haven't learned what running is really about and shouldn't consider themselves "elite".]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[herbuveaux]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Oct 14th 2009 4:50PM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
