'Brady Bunch' Star Launches Tech Support Hotline for Baby Boomers

"I didn't grow up with technology," Henderson explained to the Times. "It's like learning a new language." And learned a new language she has; Ms. Brady is now an active user of text messaging, Facebook, and Skype. Knowing firsthand the hurdles standing between the Baby Boom and the Tech Boom, she decided to start the FloH Club -- a tech support service aimed squarely at adults. "It's like roadside assistance for computers," she further explains. Staffed by professionals who are screened for their patience and ability to speak plain English, the FloH Club's telephone hotline is up and running seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Eastern time. For $25 a month, or $250 a year, members can get guidance on anything from HDMI cables to HTML code.
At present, the service only supports PC operating systems, but Henderson is open to offering Mac support, as well, if there's enough demand for it. For our part, we think Henderson is really onto something. She'd just better hope that Bill Cosby doesn't hop on the bandwagon. He'd do the same thing, only funnier. Maybe she got the idea or some help from Chris Knight (the Peter Brady character). He's the computer guru.

Very little demand for such tech support on Macs because they don't have all the problems that PC's have. When you add up all of the extra costs and hassle of dealing with anti-virus software, tech support, IT specialists, crashes with expensive data recovery, etc., you spend FAR more for a PC than you would have for a Mac that doesn't crash, doesn't lose files, and is virtually immune to viruses and hacking no matter where you surf on the web. But keep on flogging that dead horse. You're Florence Henderson's kind of people.

And, at the end of the day...which machine did you end up spending the most MONEY on? 96% of the rest of the world uses Windows! Ever wonder why? Very little demand for tech support on MACS could just mean there aren't that many of them to be taken seriously yet!
