1. IT's cheaper
2. Plenty of used/low cost games at game stop with the chance to re-sell !
3. some nice gadgets arround for nice price and
4. the usb-door rocks !!

I think this is the major problem of sony. Sony doesn't like evolution but, it does revolution and then from times to times it destroys all the progress achieved with the years. What I would miss in a brand new gadget:

1. Camera (every cell phone has a camera !)
2. Gps (every cell phone has a gps)
3. Touch-screen (every ....)
4. .....
