Watching Twitter tonight has taught me one thing, Phillies fans are a bunch of whiny dicks. But it's ok, every tank needs a bottom feeder.

I think judging this woman on this one incident is a little harsh. This is coming from someone who has worked for tips. And i understand the waiters frustration, when you work for tips and someone doesn't tip you or doesn't tip you properly for whatever reason it just leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. And it could be three dollars or one dollar on a 7 dollar check. The point is a tip is expected, deserved and is the proper thing to do. Now with that being said, over the years i've come to realize judging people on one instance just isn't fair, you catch someone on a bad day, things are going in their life, tipping a couple dollars may not be a priority. Now that isn't an excuse, i'm just saying if she does the right thing on all other occasions it isn't really fair to judge her negatively on one occasion, i mean she could have actually forgotten her check book, ran out to her car, got an important call, had to leave town, told someone to take care of the bill, that person didn't think to leave a tip, and there you have it. A bit of a stretch i know, but i've learned to wait for a person to act a certain way repeatedly before you judge them harshly, and there are plenty of people to go around for that!

I think "judging" here should be left up to the courts. She walked out on a bill, for which she should be prosecuted, PERIOD. Whether she had someone else, or she herself paid it at a later date, it was theft at the least. But, money talks. If it had been me or any of you, we'd be in jail for it, regardless of whether we asked someone to go pay for it, or did it ourselves at a later time.

Brian, there in lies the problem ... "The point is a tip is expected, deserved and is the proper thing to do." Expected, for sure. Deserved, depends on the service given. The proper thing to, in most cases.
I have eaten in very expensive restaurant, 4 for $450 and tipped $100 because the service was truly exceptional. But I've eaten in restaurants of equal stature and paid 10% because the wait staff was deplorable even if the food was excellent. I've eaten in the places that were just plain, only there to grab a bite to eat but the wait staff was exceptional and a tip equal to the bill was paid. Likewise the opposite has also happened. They all expected a tip, it was the proper thing to do, but it was not always deserved. By the way,I have also left a tip that was a note to management stating I left no tip because your wait staff was sullen, inattentive, argumentative, food was over/undercooked, and it was an unejpyable evening. Before you get in a huff, I also let management know when the service has been exceptional.
Confidentiality is not served well by twitter abd the wait staff should know that a breach of confidentiality is the exit door.

i see ur side, but she couldve come in and explained her situation...instead she just bailed on him. She could have taken 2 minutes to walk in and explain she left her wallet, or had to leave for w/e reason. most people would understand.
