How many waiters/waitresses do you know that do the job for fun, without tips?? Takes a lot of nerve to eat, skip, pay the NEXT day and not even leave the kid a tip. I mean, he had to already deal with the fact YOU left. Do you know how fun that is to explain to your manager?? Hm? Then not to even leave a buck? Geeeez.

After all, the kid did his job.

He served her the $13.95 lunch and she ate it happily.

Hopefully, Ms. Adams will learn some manners in her next acting role. He was a waiter at a restaurant where 95% of the clientele are actors, agents etc. They have very firm rules that you do NOT under any reason speak of who comes in, what they ordered, who they were with etc. Otherwise the clients would never come back. He broke that rule at least a dozen times. He got caught finally because someone told Ms Adams about the tweet and a concern was filed with the company who then monitored his username and found that this was a habit. Further the comments were sometimes lewd and highly inappropriate (ratings ladies breasts for example).

Who knows what happened when Ms Adams got to her car. She could have had every intention of paying. Perhaps she discovered her wallet was not in her car, called her agents office and was told they would take care of it but the assistant didn't bother until the next day. Perhaps she told him to be sure to include a big tip and he screwed it up. As it was, a 15% tip on her check is only $2.00 so don't say she undertipped him. Especially after his behavior.

Someone who gets it

Comments on

I think judging this woman on this one incident is a little harsh. This is coming from someone who has worked for tips. And i understand the waiters frustration, when you work for tips and someone doesn't tip you or doesn't tip you properly for whatever reason it just leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. And it could be three dollars or one dollar on a 7 dollar check. The point is a tip is expected, deserved and is the proper thing to do. Now with that being said, over the years i've come to realize judging people on one instance just isn't fair, you catch someone on a bad day, things are going in their life, tipping a couple dollars may not be a priority. Now that isn't an excuse, i'm just saying if she does the right thing on all other occasions it isn't really fair to judge her negatively on one occasion, i mean she could have actually forgotten her check book, ran out to her car, got an important call, had to leave town, told someone to take care of the bill, that person didn't think to leave a tip, and there you have it. A bit of a stretch i know, but i've learned to wait for a person to act a certain way repeatedly before you judge them harshly, and there are plenty of people to go around for that!

Brian

Comments on

Deserved????? outa yer f....n mind....A tip is given for service, not cause some arrogant a$$h..e thinks u owe it.... She walked out on a bill, for which she should be prosecuted, PERIOD. Whether she had someone else, or she herself paid it at a later date, it was theft at the least. But, money talks. If it had been me or any of you, we'd be in jail for it, regardless of whether we asked someone to go pay for it, or did it ourselves at a later time.

AJM4you

Comments on

Brian, there in lies the problem ... "The point is a tip is expected, deserved and is the proper thing to do." Expected, for sure. Deserved, depends on the service given. The proper thing to, in most cases.
I have eaten in very expensive restaurant, 4 for $450 and tipped $100 because the service was truly exceptional. But I've eaten in restaurants of equal stature and paid 10% because the wait staff was deplorable even if the food was excellent. I've eaten in the places that were just plain, only there to grab a bite to eat but the wait staff was exceptional and a tip equal to the bill was paid. Likewise the opposite has also happened. They all expected a tip, it was the proper thing to do, but it was not always deserved. By the way,I have also left a tip that was a note to management stating I left no tip because your wait staff was sullen, inattentive, argumentative, food was over/undercooked, and it was an unejpyable evening. Before you get in a huff, I also let management know when the service has been exceptional.
Confidentiality is not served well by twitter abd the wait staff should know that a breach of confidentiality is the exit door.

weejj

Comments on

she ate the meal it is her responsibility to pay for it.

plain and simple.

if she hadnt been a star she would have ahd the cops called on her.

TWOHORNSNOHALO
