Gamer Takes Down 'Pac-Man' World Speed Record

David Race has a fever, and the only prescription is more 'Pac-Man.' Last week, the appropriately named Race, of Beaver Creek, Ohio, set a new standard for the classic video game, completing its 256 levels in a mere 3 hours, 41 minutes and 22 seconds, and narrowly edging out the previous mark of 3 hours and 42 minutes.

Race chomped every pac-dot, munched every bonus treat, snagged every energizer, and snared every single blue Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde to become only the sixth documented person to ever record a perfect score of 3,333,360 and to reach the game's final "kill screen," according to video game record keeper Twin Galaxies.

Race has certainly accomplished an admirable feat, and earned the respect of old school gaming dorks everywhere. But if he truly wants to achieve mainstream success like the infamous and extraordinary gaming icon Billy Mitchell (who, in 1999, became the first person to accomplish a perfect 'Pac-Man' session), he needs to lose the preppy look and sport a really sweet mullet, or at least don an American flag bandanna.
