Plastic Logic
Plastic Logic announced a partnership with Barnes & Noble a couple of months ago, making it the most direct challenger to the Kindle's dominance. The large 8.5 inch by 11-inch slate will have a gesture-based, touch screen interace and will pack in 3G capability thanks to AT&T. The device is expected to be priced similar to Amazon's device, which starts at $299, though we suspect the manufacturer's mean the DX.

Palm has had eReader software for years. I first started by using their pda's (Zire 31 then Tungsten e2) and now am reading on my smartphone, the Centro. yes it is a small screen but has a great capacity using the card slot, does more and costs less. Using the phone gives me one less piece of electronics to carry.

Is it a bad thing to check books out of the local library. Am I an antique for still going to library?
