Suddenly, Earth-Friendly E-Readers Are Everywhere 5

Sony Reader Daily Edition

This large screen (7-inches), DX competitor will be launching in December for $400. It'll have a touch screen and 3G wireless capability built in. It also has that sleek Sony styling with black brushed metal and rounded edges. The most interesting feature, though, is the ability to "check out" free e-books from libraries -- including the Chicago and New York Public Libraries. The larger format is squarely aimed at newspaper readers, as is the name -- "Daily Edition" evokes broadsheets more than e-books. We're looking forward to this one.
