It was horrible and just about wiped out my computer. A friend on FB posted a link to my wall that was titled "Coool Video", about that same time, I noticed I had an email in my FB inbox from the same friend with a link to a video titled "Home Video". For a moment I thought it kind of odd to get contacted both ways with the link, but then I figured if she sent it to me twice then it must be good! So, my dumba$$ clicked on the link, my computer froze, and all kinds of stuff started popping up. All I could do to stop it was unplug my computer. Once I restarted it, I was getting pop-up after pop-up even with my pop-up blocker enabled and having 2 types of antivirus software. At one point, my 6 year old son walked into the room and at the same moment I got a pop-up video of a woman taking off her bra (it was probably the testosterone in him that sensed it was going to happen, lol)! When all was said and done, I removed over 400 trojans, adware, and malware!!! After speaking with my friend about what happened, we figured that once you click the link, it gets all of your FB friends names and emails (and god knows what else). The virus then sends this link to ALL of your friends with YOUR name on it, both on their wall and on their FB email, so it looks as if it came from you! I have learned my lesson the hard way - never click on a link, even if it's from someone you know, until you confirm with them that they actually sent it. What I don't get is, if all this virus does is send this link to others, what's the point? What exactly do the "people" who made the virus gain from it? What a waste of time, both for me and for them...

mullaney2006

Comments on Rogue Phishing Applications Plague Facebook

This is because the jerk who has made this virus will log on to your keg strokes and getting your account numbers and whatever else which is not good for your bank account or friends emails ect.

chefjoy
