Morning Xtra: Yahoo!'s Microsoft Bias, Unix Turns 40, Apple TVs in 2011?

Highlights from this morning's other big tech headlines...
- Yahoo! has recently started recommending that users switch to the 'newer, safer Internet Explorer 8.' Probably has nothing to do with the recent Yahoo!/Microsoft partnership, right? Gotta be a coincidence, especially since Yahoo! was all gushy over Firefox last year. [From: TechCrunch]
- Facebook and Twitter, working in tandem? Apparently a summer intern has built an application that will allow Facebook content to be posted onto the microblogging site, directly from Facebook, itself. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. [From: DownloadSquad]
- Piper Jaffray's analyst Gene Munster predicts that, by 2011, consumers might see an Apple-branded television, as Steve & Co. head deeper into the lifestyle market. Apple TV and iTunes are apparently leading the way. [From: CNN Money]
- Happy 40th birthday, Unix. The operating system has been thrown a nice party by the BBC, which points out how well the OS has aged. [From: BBC.co.uk]
- Things aren't looking good for Clear, the airport fast-pass company that collected personal, biological info like iris and fingerprint type to more quickly send users through airport security checkpoints. Months after the company declared bankruptcy, a judge has prohibited Clear from selling its data to other companies looking to adopt its business model. [From: Wired.com]
- The City of Los Angeles may adopt Google Apps in order to cut down on costs and increase inter-network capabilities, like sharing documents. Tip: Make the password difficult to guess, Angelenos. [From: CNet]
