How to Lower Your Monthly Tech Bills

Use the Web to Sample New Music
All the free tracks on the Internet let us sample what's out there, which makes it easier to spend money on the albums we know we'll like. And iTunes and Amazon are great for downloading that new single you just heard on the radio without having to blow $15 for the whole album.
We're especially fond of music blogs and sites like Hype Machine that can give you a downloadable sample of the hottest tracks as well as a great introduction to niche genres. Also, almost all music review sites and music magazines -- Pitchfork, Spinner, RollingStone, Blender, Rcrdlbl, among others -- offer free downloads.
You can also head over to Myspace Music, last.fm, iLike or imeem to hear thousands of new albums and tracks. But you'll need a constant Web connection, since it's streaming-only. And you can't take the tracks on a portable player.
Also, it's pretty standard these days for bands to post free downloads on their Web sites.

For years I said I couldn't afford a cellular phone because you had to sign up for the 2 year contracts which were very expense to my way of thinking. Then I heard an add on TV for Consumer Cellular and I looked them up on the web and found they had no contracts and they are very reasonable. They have an emergency line for only $10.00 a month, I have the plan where I get 250 minutes for only $20.00, but I get a discount because I have AARP so after taxes I only pay around $22.00 a month, which I can afford. So you might want to check this out and tell them I recommended it.

Yup...after reading these items it became clear that you are going to get ripped off for all this crap no matter what. Just think, all these additional payments didn't even exist twenty years ago; which leads me to wonder where we were ever really supposed to come up with the money to pay for it all anyway??? I guess what in the good old days, we used to call savings or retirement we are now spending on all this crap. Are there benefits to all this useless communication, psuedo knowledge, and entertainment we are paying for? Yes, the tech execs turn into billionaires and we get ADD and develop the maturity, intelect, and attention span of gnats. Wow...and I can save ten dollars a month for that if I only go on hold for ten hours with some people from India with a "new PLAN". Oh yeah....everythings a PLAN. I think I know the PLAN and it's to get our money.
