How to Lower Your Monthly Tech Bills
Get Rid of Your Cable DVR
Tired of paying that extra $10 a month to your cable company for its glitchy DVR (or $129 a year for Tivo)? The good news is, you don't have to worry any more about making sure you recorded the latest episode of your favorite show (or making sure it doesn't get automatically erased). Now you can watch almost any show you want online now for free.
All the major networks (broadcast and cable), as well as video hubs such as Hulu, Joost, YouTube, and all the major portals (including our parent company AOL) offer high-quality streams of classic and current shows right on your desktop. We haven't watched an episode of '90210, 'The Hills,' and 'Lost' on TV for months!

Your DVR records a lot more than just network shows....I record many shows that are not rerun on the wed. This is more valuable than anything on the list.

I don't know about anyone else but I like to sit in a comfy chair and relax and enjoy a show I have recorded not sit at my desk and view them on my computer monitor.

I sit in front of the computer long enough as it is....I love the dvr, come on you can't beat pausing live tv to go to the bathroom!!! or hit record when you go to bed/ or leave.
