Cop Attacks Man for Facebooking His Wife

According to Your4State.com, Lieutenant John Sherman, while off-duty, confronted Larry "Tike" Murphy about the messages last Thursday. After a heated exchange, Sherman allegedly punched Murphy in the face and back, and ripped his shirt (and right by the Martinsburg Church of Christ, no less). As a result, Sherman was placed on administrative leave and charged with battery. According to court documents, Sherman "did not believe it was right that another man was communicating with his wife by Internet-sending some of the things he was sending to her."
Sherman posted bond Monday, and the Martinsburg Police Department says it has launched an administrative investigation into the attack. At the very least, Sherman's lost some friends, since reports say the men's wives are (or were) best friends. At the most, he's lost a career, and maybe a wife, too. [From: Your4State.com]

Always Turn Off Stolen GPS Units
It was only a matter of time before some numbskull criminal stole a GPS-equipped car or phone, but we didn't expect someone to steal live GPS units. A group of crooks in Lindenhurst, NY swiped 14 functioning GPS devices from the Town of Babylon Public Works. Understandably, authorities had no trouble tracking them down.
Security Cam Catches Tattooed Thief
We're not going to pass judgement on the type of tattoo you get, but you might want to think about what it says before you start getting into crime. Aaron Evans, a 21-year-old U.K. repeat offender, was caught stealing a car's GPS unit because the nearby CCTV captured the tattoo on his neck. It revealed his birthday and name...

Later, when the victim went online and downloaded her data to transfer it to a new phone, Gary's mug popped up. The rest, as they say, is history.

A White Plains, New York girl was the victim of burglary; over $5,000 worth of electronics, including iPods, a flatscreen TV, and a new Macintosh computer were stolen. A few days later, a friend noticed that the burglary victim appeared to be online, but called her to make sure. Because the stolen Mac was running Back to My Mac, the victim was able to log into the computer remotely and snap a picture of the thief. Turns out the thieves were "friends" who had visited the victim's apartment several weeks earlier.

Oh my God two men had a fight!!! The guy did not appreciate his friend contacting his wife they had words and a couple of punches were thrown. This country has become so liberal your not allowed to have a good old fashioned fight without everyone making a federal case out of it. What a nation of pussies!!!

Wow people are so quick to judge based on three paragraphs (nice journalism there) of information. Where are the details? Typical of today's media, post only sensational aspects and leave the details out of it.
Where are the details of the confrontation? It's possible that the cop was justified in his actions, but since the reporter of this article couldn't be bother to ask, we'll not know. The guy could have pulled a weapon or swung the first punch, in which case the cop had every right to defend himself. Funny how details make a difference isn't it?
A little off the topic but.....I am tired of giving criminals more rights than they deserve. I think if a criminal takes a swing at a cop he or she deserves a beat down and shouldn't be able to sue. If minorities or any ethnic group won't report crimes or come forward as witnesses then they should shut up and not complain about their crime ridden neighborhoods. If you're not part of the solution then you are the problem.
Yeah there are some bad cops out there but the goods far out number them.

He should not be busted nor should he lose his job. One he was" Off Duty" What everyone fails to realize is that underneath that badge and uniform is a man who like any other man confronted his wife s friend about leaving bad taste messages . I too would have done the same thing. If there is a man out there that would not have done this then it is only because the care of your wife and family is not on your priority list. I say good for him!! I have a wife that ended up cheating on me, hiding my only child for weeks at a time, the only reason I did not get into a confrontation with the man she cheated on with is out of respect for my daughter who is always with her mom and him. She is five what would I look like in front of her... Family Court will soon take care of him...But to those who have less a problem and have the time and opportunity to act... I stand tall with them... Just my 1.5 cents worth

Sounds as though his twat wife wasn't worth losing nor losing his job over or doing time.
He should have dumped her and moved on without the drama.

jeffSep 5th 2009 5:09PM
he punched the wrong person, it should have been his wife punched in the face...what a slut she sounds like...it doesn't help that cops have such low iq's and usually resort to violence

Someone on here says, First of all this is not a typical cop response. I beg your pardon to whoever wrote that. Cops whether they are Game Wardens, City, County or State or Federal, or even prison guards. They all have a " CONTROL FREAK NATURE ". All of them. They are thoroughly brain washed into believing that they own the world. And in almost every instance where one of them bastards is caught doing something they are exonerated by their own. They attack people for little or no cause. Killing innocent in the process, of attempting to break the law, to enforce it. Just a few weeks ago, California cops were chasing a car, with men in it who were only wanted because of a traffic violation. The high speed chase resulted in babies and adults being killed. This is without a doubt a grave travesty. Because no traffic ticket violation warrants innocemnt peoples lives being put in jeopardy..over a stinking misdemeanor charge that would have resulted. Control freaks that what they are, America's Most wanted TV show is one of the most proliferated Control Freak episodes in this country. So one mans son got abducted and He turns his vengence towards everyone else. His and pursues criminals, people who aren't willing to forgive others usually end up dieing themselves while pursuing others as a vengence method. The Proof is evident Texas named one of their prison units after a lady, who was raped and testified against a man who done it. She refused to accept his punishment as a final result. Every year she would go before the parole board and stop him from being paroled, as her own vengence and lack of forgiveness. Years later she became a president of a rape prevention organization. And then she was headed to Paris with her two small daughters, her plane crashed over the Atlantic Ocean, she perished and her daughters. God killed her and her two daughters, Because He knew if those girls had of lived they would have carried on their mothers legacy of unforgiveness. This cop, being " OFF DUTY " still maintained his chosen profession and his control freak idea's of taking his attitude to a private citizen and as a vigalante. Broke the law, inorder to justify himself, and protect his wife's dignity. Undoubtably what made him mad was, his wifed probably answered those e-mails with fantasy talk and rendevous's for her and the guy.....thats why ole coppy boy was furious. The put down, is very hard for a control freak to take. He is one of those guys that threatens his ole lady into submission....fear and bully tactic's. So now she's dropping her draw's for someone else..ut-oh, did I say that!!!!!!!
PunchyOct 27th 2009 3:35AM
Typical cop. Without a badge and gun most cops are just faggots looking to feel up random guys for fun.
LovingSep 7th 2009 7:56AM
I do not agree with no cops neither any other mind speaking of their own as a matter of opinion, but I will give you a fact...A mind is a terrible thing to waste and right now there are millions wasting it in things that don't make them think! Quote" THINK BEFORE YOU ACT". Period! God bless your thinkings. In other hands also bite your tongue before you say something to hurt someone is my fact expressed,God bless you mankind lost! You need God and He can help you think....Don't you think? Bug bye......
TAMISep 7th 2009 2:13PM
I can sympathize with the man! People DO pretend to be single or have these little "E-Affairs"...and it hurts when you find out...no matter who you are. Doesn't mean you don't pay consequences for your own actions...hopefully though, she can get her priorities in order...(I'm assuming the emails were indeed improper)
LandaSep 7th 2009 10:27PM
If his wife leaves him for fighting another man because he thinks the man was in the wrong for facebooking her than he never had a wife in the first place. She must had something to hide or she was like the other man for facebooking her.
Glad4JCSep 7th 2009 10:40PM
Good to see so many intelligent and thoughtful responses. Who knows what this man saw exchanged between his wife and trusted friend. He lost it, he should not have but people lose it sometimes. He may need anger management therapy.
I was deeply moved by the poster who commented how his wife wants out after years of marriage and all those children.
I am a private investigator and I am shocked at how many women are doing this, abandoning their families, running off with someone they just met in a bar or on the internet. Men have been cheating for years and some women too of course but this seems to be an epidemic among women especially in the 25-35 year old range. What is really disturbing is that the women will put their children at risk with a man they hardly know ripping them away from their father in some cases and from the stable home they had or in other cases just leaving their kids with family, or husband and going off with the other man.
I just heard of one family where the mother had sex with her step son and her kids were all taken away and she is in jail. The poor man who is a devout Christian active in his church is shell shocked. He is all alone in this house now until it all gets sorted out. Even the son that was involved is not at home.
One selfish act or a serious of foolish acts have devastated a whole family.

he is a cop but the story doesnt say if he was on duty or not and we all know he will not lose his job i mean there has been proof of cops killing unarmed people and yet they still have a job a cop killed a child 4year old girl on duty drunk by me what happened? suspended with pay wow of course the story was not picked up by majior news sources because the child was a minority and no you racist losers i am not black
MarioSep 8th 2009 3:47AM
The cop was wrong! Cannot go around beating up people, especially if you wear a badge. What an idiot! Because this clown is a Lieut vs a street grunt, they will probably white wash this incident...suspend him for a while without pay or even demote him. Would not surprise me if his wife dumps his sorry ass!
oxymoronicalsSep 8th 2009 6:48PM
I dont blame him he was trying to facebook her for years! (and there married) and along comes this online friends with benefits? i bet he threw a sheep at her (beatdown pending!)

Roid RAGE comes to mind. This has nothing to do with being a Police Officer.
Cherokee231Sep 11th 2009 10:21PM
Law Enforcement is dirty and low down for the most part of it and will commit acts unbecoming of an officer when permitted.
Just because they face all kinds of peril doesn't give them the right to abuse the public when it suits their needs. He knew the law and repercussions he made a choice and the choice was his. We got law enforcement covering for one another and looking the other way all the time. It's time to stop protecting the criminals and let justice prevail. Irregardless, of how many 911 calls they've responded to!!
